Why this site exists

I traded options in the late 2000's. The latency, the tools and my poor knowledge allowed me to lose a lot of money. The tools that are available now are game changing. Now you can build tools to remove your emotions and focus on your trading style.

That experience is the whole reason AIClarity exists. The gap between a retail trader and a professional desk used to be enormous — speed, data, and disciplined execution. Today, open-source AI and LLM tooling have closed a remarkable amount of that gap. You can now build agents that screen, decide, backtest, and execute systematically, so the plan runs the trade instead of your emotions.

But the open-source landscape is sprawling and uneven. AIClarity's job is to curate it: to point you to the repos, guides and backtesting tools genuinely worth your time, and to evaluate them from the perspective of someone who has actually sat in front of the screen and felt the cost of bad tools and worse discipline.

What AIClarity Does

AIClarity is a curated, educational resource for people who want to build and backtest AI trading agents. We focus on three things:

• Curated repositories — the best open-source projects for building agents (multi-agent LLM frameworks, reinforcement-learning stacks) and for backtesting them honestly. See the Best Repos hub.
• Build guides — plain-English explainers and walkthroughs: how agents work, how to connect to broker APIs, and how to backtest without fooling yourself. See AI Agents.
• Strategy foundations — the classic strategies worth automating (trend following, momentum, breakouts, mean reversion) and how to wire each into an agent. See Strategies.

We are not a signal service, we don't sell a "system," and we don't tell you what to buy. We point you to the best builders' work and help you evaluate it.

How We Curate

The repositories and tools featured here are selected against a few simple, honest criteria:

• Real adoption — meaningful, verifiable popularity (we check GitHub stars and note when we verified them).
• Active maintenance — we flag projects whose development has stalled, even when they remain useful.
• Fit for purpose — we say plainly what each project is good at and who it's for, rather than ranking everything against everything.
• Builder-first — we favour tools you can actually run, read, and learn from.

Star counts and maintenance status are re-checked periodically, and the date we last verified appears on the Best Repos page.

Who's Behind AIClarity

AIClarity is written and curated by William Grebenik and published by Kontio Power, LLC. The perspective here is that of a former options trader — not a quant fund or a software vendor — who is genuinely interested in how today's AI tooling lets ordinary people build disciplined, systematic trading agents. Where we point to specialist developers' work, we say so; the goal is to be the most trustworthy map of this fast-moving niche.
